Medical Billing Analyst - Baltimore

As an AR Analyst at drchrono you will be involved in all facets of medical billing and accounts receivable management including charge entry, payment posting, customer service and AR follow-up in accordance with practice protocol with an emphasis on maximizing patient satisfaction and practice profitability. You will help manage patient service calls, determine quality of vendor work, and provide feedback to all involved in the drchrono RCM process. You will play a key part in helping us innovate in the industry and build the best RCM department in the business.

This position requires a comprehensive understanding of accounts receivable management in a healthcare setting and a strong working knowledge of managed care plans and insurance carriers.  Also required is a strong working knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS, modifiers and documentation guidelines as well as a working knowledge of Medicare Compliance, OSHA and HIPAA. 

RESPONSIBILTIES:

  • You will be the first point of contact for all patient calls regarding billing statements and payment issues for specified clients.  Research, follow-up, and delegation of necessary actions to resolve the matter.
  • You will fully audit the accounts and work done by offshore vendors, meet with off-shore vendors to review audit finding, and train off-shore vendors on new protocols and processes
  • You will project work for clients in a range of specialties as needed to include account follow up work, payment posting, and analysis of full revenue cycle process 
  • You will assist in the writing of practice and company specific protocols and processes and assist in the development of reporting needed to analyze a client account 
  • You will provide information pertaining to billing, coding, managed care networks, insurance carriers and reimbursement to Account Manager, Executive team, or clients as needed 
  • You will attend relevant seminars to remain up to date on current issues regarding revenue cycle management, Medicare Compliance and HIPAA. 
  • You will monitor the supply and quality of forms, envelopes and supplies as required to perform job functions. 
  • You will become an expert in all facets and functions of the drchrono software  
  • You will use your knowledge of clearinghouse technology, a web-based program for eligibility verification, claim submission, and claim status, to efficiently conduct accounts receivable follow-up and to maximize revenue. 
  • You will maintain an organized, efficient and professional work environment.                
  • You will adhere to all practice policies related to OSHA, HIPAA and Medicare Compliance. 

REQUIREMENTS AND SKILLS:

  • You can demonstrate current competencies applicable to the job position.
  • You have excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong customer service skills.
  • You have a strong foundation in basic mathematics.
  • You can type at a speed of forty (40) words per minute and ten-key by touch.
  • You have an excellent working knowledge of managed care networks and insurance carriers.
  • You have an extensive working knowledge of accounts receivable functions
  • You have a good understanding of the current Medicare Compliance, OSHA, and HIPAA regulations. 
  • You are detail oriented and have excellent organizational skills 
  • You can establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with clients, co-workers, and vendors.
  • You know how to communicate effectively and professionally with patients, doctors, and medical staff using interpersonal skills.
  • You know how to prioritize and multi task and are calm under pressure.
  • You have a high school diploma or GED and relevant billing experience.  A college degree is preferred.     
  • You have a minimum of 3 years of accounts receivable experience preferably in a outsourced billing atmosphere with experience in many specialties.
